To provide an organisation for ASEAN Accountants for the further advancement of the status of the profession in the region with the view to establishing an ASEAN philosophy on the accounting profession.
The ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) will be supporting the hosting of Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI) Congress XIII and IAI International Seminar, as part of IAIs 61st anniversary. This is an important milestone for the Institute, in strengthening the inclusive role of the accountancy profession towards SDGs 2030. Accounting profession is now an integral part in sustainable development towards the nations ideals, building a welfare state in Indonesia.
The event will be officially opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. H. Ir. Joko Widodo. Among the key contributors to the seminar will be the newly appointed IFAC President, Dr In-Ki Joo. This will be one of his first visits following his appointment in Sydney on November 2018. Dr Joo will be accompanied by IFAC Executive Director, Russell Guthrie.
The seminar will focus on the theme of Beyond 2030: Embracing Revolutionary Changes of Global Environment, delivered through discussion on topics such as the role of accountants in the era of business disruptions, inclusive role of the accountancy profession towards SDGs 2030, and protecting public interest and building prosperity.
The IAI Congress XIII and IAI International Seminar will be held on 11-13 December 2018 at the Balai Kartini, Jakarta.
